Everyone’s favorite Steam-based physics toy, Garry’s Mod, has now hit 1M sales. The sandbox utility which allows users to manipulate the engine hit the milestone over the weekend. Garry Newman, creator of the mod, gushed that the popularity of the software is “more than I could have ever expected or wished for!”
Newman added that Garry’s Mod would have a new update soon.
”I know this isn’t exactly Minecraft’s 2.9 million,” Newman posted, ”But this is a pretty big deal for me considering this all started off as a tiny tiny modification about 6 years ago.”
Regarding the update, Newman added, ”I did plan to release a big secret update I’ve been working on when we hit 1mil. But it’s not ready – you guys beat me to it.”
The best known use for Garry’s Mod is for webcomics such as Concerned: The Life and Death of Gordon Frohman.
