FIFA 12 continues to have a strong hold on the UK market, as it was the leading retail seller in the British Isles. Star Wars: The Old Republic, the major licensed BioWare MMO, debuted at 10th.
However, the game was hardly a failure, as the chart only counts for retail sales, whereas a majority of The Old Republic’s sales were digital. In addition, Electronic Arts limited retail sales for the launch. The Old Republic also had an unusual Tuesday release date in the UK; most software debut releases in the region are on Friday.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 continues to dominate the charts, coming in 2nd, but Battlefield 3 has managed to hold its own against the mega-IP, coming in 4th after the dancing title Just Dance 3.
