Markus "Notch" Persson has revealed his upcoming space simulator project, and it is not his April Fool's Day joke "Mars Effect". Instead, it's 0x10c, which is set in the far far future hundreds of trillions of years in the future.
According to the official site, the game takes place in an alternate history where the space race never ended. A group of luckless space travellers in sleep stasis who thanks to a computer glitch end up travelling 281 trillion years in the future, when the universe is on its last stages, dominated by massive black holes and galaxies full of dying stars where star formation has ceased.
The bullet-point list of features for the game include:
* Hard science fiction.
* Lots of engineering.
* Fully working computer system.
* Space battles against the AI or other players.
* Abandoned ships full of loot.
* Duct tape!
* Seamlessly landing on planets.
* Advanced economy system.
* Random encounters.
* Mining, trading, and looting.
* Single and multi player connected via the multiverse.
0x10c has no set release date, but stay tuned for more info.
