As most gamers known by now, Assassin's Creed 3 will be taking place in the North American British Colonies during the American Revolution. Part of the reason the game will be taking place in the 1770's is that UbiSoft dismissed other possibilities, including World War II, Japan and Egypt as the "three worst settings" that were suggested by the internet community.
According to Assassin's Creed 3 creative director Alex Hutchinson, "People on the internet suggest the most boring settings. The three most wanted are WWII, feudal Japan and Egypt. They're kind of the three worst settings for an AC game."
What other settings would UbiSoft deem a good setting? Apparently, the company thinks India during the time of the British Raj would be one of them - and may yet be in future sequels. Hutchsinson states that Assassin's Creed 3 writer Corey May "really wants to do India. I would too. I'd really love to do the Raj."
Who would the Assassins deal with in Colonial India? Would it take place during the Mutiny of 1857? Even more intriguing, how would Mohandas Gandhi have dealt with the Assassins during the 1940's? Their methods of winning peace are quite conflicting.
