Yesterday, ex-Infinity Ward founders and current Respawn devs Vincent Zampella and Jason West were at Electronic Arts’ E3 press conference, sitting directly in front of me. When EA CEO John Riccitiello pointed them out from the stage, that frustratingly was the only mention the developers received during the conference, as their first project remains a mystery.
Zampella told CVG that an announcement for Respawn’s first game would be “hopefully soon”. The chief issue is the current legal battle between him and West with Activision, and that once that was settled, Respawn could start focusing on discussing its first effort.
