A team of artists and animators at Technicolor’s Bangalore-based office will be set aside and dedicated to future ”cutting edge” Rockstar projects. It’s highly likely they’re working on GTA V.
Technicolor is no stranger to the games industry as they already have ties with EA, Sony and Square Enix. Now they can add Rockstar to their portfolio.
”This partnership reinforces Technicolor’s strong commitment and strategy to growing its art and animation business for the video game industry and we are proud to work with cutting edge industry leaders like Rockstar Games,” said Tim Sarnoff, president of Technicolor Digital Productions.
Rockstar’s Jeronimo Barrera added ”Technicolor were a fantastic resource for us during the development of Max Payne 3. We’re looking forward to building the partnership on future projects.” Given the very close nature of Max Payne 3 and Grand Theft Auto V’s visual style and animations its almost certain Technicolor are lending assistance.
