The ending of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 RPG Final Fantasy XIII-2 has caused a stir. Without spoiling the conclusion, the game ends with a “To Be Continued” message. However, director Motomu Toriyama has stated that it’s not a sequel hook.
According to Toriyama, the message is to tell the player that there are many different endings that the player can unlock via side-missions, and that the developer plans to release additional downloadable content for the game.
One of the planned DLC packs for Final Fantasy XIII-2 includes the ”extensive” Lightning DLC pack announced just over a week ago.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 was released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on the 31st January in North America and the 3rd February in Europe. Strategy Informer awarded the game a 7.5/10 score in its review.
