That’s tailed closely by the original Gran Turismo with 10,850,000. The latest entry, Gran Turismo 5, boasts 9,010,000 to its name. A new title update releases on PSN today.
The grand total for Gran Turismo right now stands at 67,890,000. These sales span from the original PlayStation back in 1997 to PlayStation 3 in September 2012.
Back in 2010, Polyphony’s Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed the studio is busy with work on Gran Turismo 6. It’s speculated that the newest title could well be in development for the next PlayStation, skipping PS3. Today however the 2.09 update has been released for Gran Turismo 5 which tweaks a few game details.
Tyre and fuel depletion disparities have been addressed with a new option for players to now alter the rate at which they deplete. The team also looked at improvements to scoring in Drift Trials.
