Trendy Entertainments odd action-RPG / tower defense hybrid Dungeon Defenders has enjoyed over 1M downloads since it launched in October on PC, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, according to publisher Reverb.
Reverb CEO Doug Kennedy stated in an interview, "It is a tremendously successful franchise. We have lots of plans to support it both with DLC and additional add-ons for the franchise."
However, last week Trendy revealed that DLC would not be coming to the console versions, due to financial and time considerations. According to Trendy in a forum post, "This is for a variety of reasons including the massive restructuring of the current console game that would have to take place, the QA process necessary to prepare for submission, patch size limitations, patch stacking requirements, and the opportunity cost of pursuing other projects."
Dungeon Defenders launched on the 18th October, and earned generally positive critical praise, with the PC and PS3 Metacritic scores at 81, and the XBLA version at 77.
