Sony trademark 'Rain' spotted, leaked footage involves woman and QTE

Something known as ‘Rain’ is on the way as Sony’s US arm has trademarked the name. We’re almost at Gamescom and so there’s hope it will be revealed at the event in Cologne, Germany.

Some leaked footage involves a woman fighting off attackers in quick-time events, as well as perform some free-running and possibly hacking. It’s seems we’ve a sci-fi adventure coming?

Unfortunately the footage that has leaked out isn’t in some fancy 720p clip but in the form of a very low resolution animated GIF image; the file weighs in at over 9MB.

Gamescom is held in Cologne, Germany between August 15th and 19th. Sony’s pre-show press conference takes place Tuesday, August 14th at 6.00pm GMT. There’s no hint of platforms yet.
