It seems that Electronic Arts and PopCap have shuttered the studio’s Dublin branch. This was revealed by former PopCap Mobile associate producer JP Vaughan, who later tweeted that the studio had “30 days to prepare” for the news.
This follows the firing of 50 employees from Popcap’s Seattle headquarters in August.
The closure was finalized four hours ago at 11:00AM GMT following a company meeting. Reportedly, 96 employees have been let go.
Popcap released a press statement reading, ”Europe remains a critical market for PopCap and we will continue to grow our presence through centralized services operated from our North American offices and through the extensive European EA network.”
Electronic Arts recently opened a new Customer Service Center in Galway, Ireland, creating 300 jobs.
