Claude Giroux wins fan vote to be on NHL 13 cover

Fans cast nearly 26M votes for Electronic Arts' cover vote campaign, which was sponsored by Blackberry, to select the cover athlete for NHL 13. The player they picked was Philadelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux, beating Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne.

The voting took place between the 29th March and the 4th June.

EA Sports also announced the special NHL 13 Stanley Cup Collector's Edition, which is now available for pre-order along with the regular edition of the game. The Collector's Edition includes two Stanley Cup Theme Hockey Ultimate Team packs, a Gold Jumbo Hockey Ultimate Team Pack (Regular) featuring 24 randomized items, an exclusive Wayne Gretzky Hockey Ultimate Team Legend and six other rare items, a CCM Boost Pack featuring the all-new CCM RBZ stick , and a 10% discount on a one-time purchase at shop.NHL.com.

NHL 13 will be available on the 11th September in North America and the 14th September 14 in Europe for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
