Sony has announced on the PlayStation Blog that the videogame adaption of the 2003 board game Dungeon Twister will be hitting North American PSN on the 3rd July, with the Euro PSN version landing a day later on the 4th July. The game is being developed by Hydravision.
Dungeon Twister is a game in which two teams of eight characters must wander through a trap-and-treasure laden dungeon. The twist (pun intended) is that the dungeon is modular with rotating tiles.
In order to win, one team must earn five Victory Points. This is accomplished by such acts as killing an opponent or getting one of your adventurers out. Players get Action Points to spend on such actions as moving a character, initiating combat, triggering a special power, or rotating a room. Rotating one room will rotate others of the same color.
Each character on a team, however, has their own rule-breaking power. For instance, the Wall-Walker can pass through walls, the Mekanork can rotate rooms in any direction, the Thief can open gates and safely navigate deadly pits, and the Troll can regenerate when wounded. These powers can be enhanced with magic items such as speed potions, fireballs and ropes.
