It would seem John Maracheck’s point-and-click adventure Stasis aboard a derelict ship in a decaying orbit around Neptune may well come true, as the sci-fi horror adventure game has achieved $100k in pledges.
It’s a 2D isometric game with a rich and mature themed story, taking its gameplay mechanic cues from the likes of Space Quest, Kings Quest and Monkey Island. There are 4 more days to go.
Stasis is similar in vein to Sanitarium, meaning it’s a psychological horror adventure game. The good ship Groomlake is in a sorry state and it’s on us to puzzle our way out.
”Stasis is a 2D isometric, point-and-click adventure game for Windows & OSX, set in the distant future on a desolate spacecraft. John Maracheck must interact and solve puzzles to save his family, while uncovering horrific experimentation, illicit research and an ever deepening mystery,” blurbs the Stasis Kickstarter.
An alpha demo is available for Stasis to give you a taste of the game’s horrors. Several chapters of the game are in fact completed and its creator, Christopher Bischoff, wants to ”reinvigorate the mature isometric adventure gaming genre by combining an exciting sci-fi, horror story and awesome graphics with classic game-play.”
