This time around the studio isn't sharing assets between PC and the console counterparts, as the desktop outing has its own "higher version" of textures to call on.
Apparently Xbox One and PS4 won't get to enjoy these higher resolution assets either, leaving the PC to blaze the trial in fidelity - as it should be.
"PC is taking a different tack from previous games," Mark Rubin told . Previously PC shared graphical assets as Xbox 360 and PS3, but Infinity Ward has made sure such a crime isn't repeated with Ghosts. "Now, PC has its own set of assets," he continued. "It's going to look better than any Call of Duty we've ever made on PC."
"They're actually using an even higher version in many cases than the next-gen consoles, from a texture standpoint." The only distinguishing feature between all versions of Ghosts will be the graphics, said Rubin. Multiplayer and the like will be the same experience regardless of platform.
Call of Duty: Ghosts releases on PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U November 5th, as well as on Xbox One and PS4.
