Developers of Verdun Blackmill Games are honouring the historical Christmas Truce of WW1 with their own in-game version. Players can ”exchange seasonal greetings, throw snowballs or perhaps engage in a soccer match.”
The event is based on the real-life incident in 1914, when British and German forces set aside their weapons for a Christmas armistice. They started killing each other a few days later, but hey.
According to Blackmill’s press release:
“The developers of Verdun honor the Christmas Truce of WW1 with their own in-game version. In peace players can exchange seasonal greetings, throw snowballs or perhaps engage in a soccer match. Verdun is in the Steam Christmas Sale of 50% from 19 December till 26 December.”
Verdun is currently still in Early Access on Steam and an official release has not yet been announced.
