ShopTo are asking for £400, although we aren’t sure if this is a random figure or an estimated price that Sony has approved. GAME is also taking pre-orders, asking for a £20 deposit.
US retailers are also doing the same thing, with EB Games asking for $50 deposits on all pre-orders.
”The PS4 is looking like a truly revolutionary console,” said GAME chief executive Martyn Gibbs. ”Sony has raised the bar for how we will experience and access games and how gamers will control their experiences. The new features will give developers a whole new way to create incredible games, so we look forward to bringing the PS4 to the gaming communities of the UK.
“Many console launches have seen demand significantly outstrip supply so we would urge anyone wishing to get their hands on a PS4 from launch to register their interest with our store teams or online as soon as possible.”
The PlayStation 4 is due to be released for holiday 2013.
