For over a decade, Alien: Isolation 2 was nothing more than a dream that many of the original’s fans were hanging onto with no official word from publisher Sega and developer Creative Assembly. That changed in late 2024, when the sequel was officially confirmed to have entered early development.

Alien: Isolation 2 does not currently have a set release date, and it will likely be several years before we get to experience the sequel for ourselves.

When announcing it, on the original’s tenth anniversary, developer Creative Assembly noted that it would share more details “when we’re ready,” offering no timeline.
Creative Assembly was hiring for its team throughout 2025. We can only hope that the wait won’t be too long, but we will very likely have to be patient.
Alien: Isolation 2 Gameplay
No details about Alien: Isolation 2’s gameplay have been shared so far, which isn’t surprising given its current stage of development.
Creative Assembly is likely still piecing things together, seeing what works and what doesn’t, so it’s difficult to say how the sequel will play.
It remains to be seen whether it proves to be iterative, closely sticking to the original’s formula, or if the second entry ends up taking the series in a different direction.
There’s a good chance that the iconic Xenomorph will make a return alongside other potentially nasty things that make survival challenging.
Alien: Isolation 2 Price & Platforms
Alien: Isolation 2’s price is, unsurprisingly, unknown at the moment as are the platforms it will launch on. We expect it to launch on PC and consoles, but it’s unclear if it will be playable on current-gen Sony and Xbox hardware.
Depending on when its release date ends up occurring, it could be a PS6 and Xbox equivalent release.
