We get to see some "gameplay visualisation" powered by their engine, so they air a reel of "extended cuts" from the initial pitch video. 5 Lives also thank Chris Roberts.
"We’ve had a quite a few requests to see gameplay footage, the dilemma for us being that it’s a bit of a chicken and egg situation," read the latest Kickstarter update.
"To accurately portray the kind of immerse, simulated and emergent world we want to create, we need to actually create it for reals! And that’s what this Kickstarter campaign is for, to create the game."
"We’d love to be able to demonstrate a mission played numerous different ways to sell the idea to you but that would require several months and a lot of money to produce," they continued. To satisfy the call for more gameplay footage they have released more 'gameplay visualisation' powered by their engine of choice; Unity.
5 Lives also write up a lengthy gameplay walkthrough to explain what's going on.
In other news on the project the studio offer a 'special thanks' to Wing Commander's Chris Roberts, who is currently heading Cloud Imperium Games on space sim Star Citizen.
"A special thanks goes out to Chris Roberts from Roberts Space Industries/Star Citizen for the shout-out on Facebook and Twitter. It got us all very excited to have one of our favourite gaming icons merely acknowledging our existence!"
Roberts slapped his money down on the 'Director' reward tier ($1000) so Satellite Reign players will be meeting "Chris Roberts' digital doppelganger in Satellite Reign as a VIP NPC!" Check out the latest Kickstarter update for more.
