Microsoft's relationship with indie developers isn't on the slide, according to Press Play's Mikkel Thorsted. The lead designer of upcoming XBLA game Max: The Curse of Brotherhood has insisted that, despite Sony's recent popularity amongst indie devs, Microsoft will continue to work hard in order to attract interest."It's something we have a hard time relating to," Thorsted told Eurogamer when asked about PlayStation becoming the preferable console for indie teams.
"I think people are wrong if they don't think Microsoft are looking into that, and trying to do what they can to adjust to how the market is changing."
"Of course they are, and it's actually also visible if you look at XBLA - there are free-to-play games, and there are more and more updates. It's a huge organisation, and they might be slow but they're definitely heading in the right direction."
Is Thorsted making a good point? Perhaps Microsoft's next console reveal will shed light on how seriously the indie scene should assess opportunities on the Xbox brand.
