Atlus USA "unaffected" by parent company's bankruptcy, it's "business as usual"

With Index Corporation filing for bankruptcy in Japan, what is going to happen to the California-based Atlus USA that localises and publishes all those Japanese games? Apparently it’s ”business as usual” for Atlus.

The financial collapse of Index doesn’t affect the Atlus brand, says the publisher. They confirm they’re still licensing and publishing third-party titles and will keep on doing so.

Shin Megami Tensei IV and Dragon’s Crown are still on target for their Western hemisphere release dates of July 16th and August 6th respectively.

”Currently, Index Digital Media, Inc. and the ATLUS brand are unaffected by the Index Corporation proceedings in Japan. We’re carrying on day-to-day activities, business as usual,” Atlus USA told Kotaku.

”Shin Megami Tensei IV and Dragon’s Crown are still releasing on July 16 and August 6 respectively, and we’re licensing and publishing third-party titles such as R.I.P.D: The Game and Daylight. We want to thank all of our fans for their outpouring of support.”

Shin Megami Tensei IV releases on 3DS, and Dragon’s Crown on PS3 and Vita.
