This new trailer looks at Minecraft with game designer Jeff Minter summing it up quickly as ‘LEGO’ for video games. They discuss how it’s so unique in uniting people to build instead of destroy.
”The idea is that it’s a landmark show. A one-off, two hours, kind of a part history and part rundown of the most influential videogames in history, is the idea,” Brooker told Edge.
”It’s about tying it into the wider culture as well, and hopefully… often when you see programmes about videogames – or often there are articles about videogames in the mainstream media – they tend to be almost apologetic. It’s all “games are interesting… really!” or “not all games are kicking prostitutes to death” or “hey they make loads of money!””
”So hopefully this is going to be a bit less pleading and more taking them seriously. It probably won’t be as irreverent as Gameswipe in a way. Even though I’m hosting it we’ve got lots of interviews with loads of people so we’re talking to everybody from Nolan Bushnell onwards.”
