It seems Sony was going to announce the same always on DRM scheme at E3 2013, but remained silent til the company saw all the negative feedback from Microsoft’s pre-E3 confidence, and changed all of its specs.
In an interview with Famitsu, SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida admitted that the company listened to the feedback after Microsoft’s conference, and dropped the DRM scheme as well as the camera that would have launched with the PS4.
Sony is still undecided about the system’s Japanese price, and plans to have a showcase for the system at Tokyo Games Show, which will be on the 19th September 2013.
