Wizardry Online is finally now available for download in Europe and North America, Sony Online Entertainment has announced. The free-to-play first person MMO, developed by Gamepot, had been available for years in Asia. The MMO is best known for having a merciless PvP, in which players may actually lose their PC forever if they die. Basically, gamers donate to revive themselves, and a poor donation runs the risk of failure. If they are two failures, the character is gone, "Lost" and unplayable. (Fortunately, the experience remains on the player's Soul aka account, so the next character has a slightly easier start.) Part of the PvP is the Bounty Hunting system, in which players who do attack, rob and kill other players for rare items get slapped with a Criminal label. Criminals may attack anwhere and at any time, but can also have bounties placed on their heads. Gamers can sign up to play Wizardry Online here. |
