Respen’s Marvelous Game, the latest Neverwinter event, will see players taking part in an in-game session of tabletop RPG Dungeons & Dragons. Which is, of course, the role=playing system that Neverwinter is based on. How very meta.
Running from April 1 to 4, the event will earn players various prizes, including a Green Slime companion and an Adorable Pocket Pet trinket that boosts various stats. You can also earn Crystal Dice, which can be traded in for the items above as well as some event specific treats; spicy crisp snacks known as ‘Lliira’s Fare’, ‘Lathander’s Dew’ and ‘Neverwintan Red Veins’.
In what promises to be a long, bleak news day of mind-numbing April Fools events, this actually sounds like a fun idea. The official website describes the event as follows.
The Mysterious mage, Respen Durothil, calls upon the adventurers of Neverwinter to test his marvelous new game. Starting April 1, 2014, players will be able to queue up for an exciting new adventure never-before-seen in Neverwinter.
Respen’s Marvelous Game takes place atop a table, with your character being transformed into a miniature statuette. This new event will challenge you on a whole new level. Now you will know what it is like to be on the other side of a tabletop game!
Complete the game and you will be rewarded with amazing new items.
