Monolith's Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will be releasing on PC and console this October 7th, reveals a brand new story trailer for the Lord of the Rings open-world RPG, where we play as ranger Talion. The studio is working closely with director Peter Jackson and others to ensure it aligns with The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit canon. Talion has Wraith-like abilities to unleash. Shadow of Mordor is set between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, where Talion and his family are killed by Sauron's forces. Mordor is not yet a wasteland. The development team have boasted that enemies who survive encounters with us will 'learn' and remember what happened, which 'personalises' them to our game world. We can also control notable leaders among Mordor's elite to make our task of culling them easier. We can have them simply spy for us or attempt an assassination. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor releases on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One and PS4 October 7th. |
