Massively multiplayer sci-fi shooter Planetside 2 is introducing a big new patch tomorrow, the highlight of which is a new achievements and progression tracking system known as Directives.
It's not just for recording all your best moments - rack up enough Directive Points to hit the higher tiers and you can unlock "exclusive Auraxium prestige weapons and appearance items".
Achievements can be earned across all roles, whether you prefer to be a foot-slogging infantryman or one of those bastards in a fighter-bomber aircraft. According to another post from SOE, some of the Directives (mostly those regarding weapon statistics) can be retroactively earned.
In other news resources have been reworked; there's just one now, Nanites, that can be used for all infantry, vehicle and support requisition. SOE has also made some improvements to the spawning system, making the waiting time after death less obnoxious.
