In an interview with OXM, chief tech officer and co-founder Bruner was asked which franchises he’d most like to adapt. His answer? James Bond.
They’re in the process of hoovering up every single license out there, so Telltale co-founder Kevin Bruner might get his ultimate wish.
”I’m a giant James Bond fan and I’m always frustrated by games that make him a mass murderer,” he said. ”He’s a super-spy, and that’s a different skill-set. The films make him less of a mass murderer, and there’s not much killing in the books - more spying and intrigue.”
The Walking Dead, Fables, Game of Thrones, Borderlands - all reasonably big licenses, but James Bond is something else. Which is why it’s farmed off for superlative games like… 007 Legends. Oh.
Maybe there is hope after all. I’d certainly prefer the franchise to attempt something new rather than fart out another stultifying shooter with bad mechanics and cheap production values.
