Popup Dungeon is an interesting little Kickstarter project, a roguelike dungeon crawler that encourages players to create their own weapons, abilities and characters. There’s a new video out from developers Triple B Titles that demonstrates what players can come up with.
The full game has a really lovely ”papercraft” aesthetic, and sort of looks like a tabletop D&D session come to life. Gameplay is turn-based combat in the vein of XCOM or Final Fantasy Tactics, and you can basically build any weapons and characters you like thanks to pre-set templates that render everything in that cardboard cut-out style.
