Surreal first-person adventure game The Black Glove has failed to make its Kickstarter target, earning less than half the required amount of $550,000.
Sad news for developer Day For Night Games, a team made up from former Irrational Games devs, but they’ve vowed to “fight like hell” to stop the game from being cancelled altogether.
The Black Glove is kind of hard to sum up in a few sentences, which actually might have been one of the Kickstarter project’s problems. You would have played the new Curator of a bizarre nightclub called The Equinox. Your basic job was to help its misfit cast of artists, writers, poets and actors put on a show, but as you can see from the trailer above, there was much more to it than that.
“So, what’s next for The Black Glove?,” reads a blog post from the team. “The short answer is that we mean to fight like hell to keep it from being cancelled. We believe in the game and you all have shown you do, too.”
Day For Night is currently in talks with various publishers who’ve shown an interest over the past few months, so all hope isn’t lost just yet.
