So this is weird. You can be Halloween’s Michael Myers in the new Ghosts DLC. New expansion Onslaught has received an in-depth new trailer featuring upcoming added content including horror-themed map Fog, which allows you to become the iconic masked killer.
Turns out that previous teaser with John Carpenter’s Halloween score was more relevant than we realised.
No, I’m not sure what the hell’s going on either. Still, the concept of lumbering around in that famous death mask swinging an axe into people is certainly intriguing. I expect to be able to play as Chucky or the Leprechaun next time around. Check the video below.
Other than bizarre tie-ins with horror franchises, the new DLC seems to focus on maps with interactive environments. Completing Field Orders (mini objectives given in multiplayer) allows players to call in an artillery strike or activate a rocket engine for extra kills.
There’s also a new alien-hunting Extinction campaign level, part of a larger story, with new enemies and an alpine setting. It actually sounds pretty cool.
Onslaught is coming to Xbox January 28, with a PC version sure to follow in short order.
