EA has admitted it ”incorrectly” banned several Battlefield 3 players who were actually using Punkbuster anti-cheat software.
The publisher posted information regarding the issues over at the EA Help blog, so it’s worth checking the site out if you’ve been affected.
”We are investigating an issue of Punkbuster bans that were incorrectly applied to some of our players,” reads the blog statement. “Please understand that our game advisors are not able to access or overturn Punkbuster bans, but we’re working with our partners at Even Balance to get this resolved as quickly as possible.”
If you’ve been banned (incorrectly, that is) you can head over to this link for instructions on how to proceed with an appeal.
EA apologise for the accidental bans, and ask players to “stay tuned for updates on this issue”. Never simple with Battlefield, is it?
