Third-person actioner Devil’s Third has received a new logo, and developer Tomonobu Itagaki has hinted that the troubled title will be re-introduced this year after suffering due to publisher THQ much-publicized troubles.
Devil’s Third was originally due to be published by THQ, but right were sold back to developer Valhalla Game Studios after the publisher decided it would not make enough money.
On the game’s Facebook page developer Itagaki wrote, “As already announced, we’ll finally reveal ‘Devil’s Third’ this year! You can see that we’ve upgraded our title logo. I wanted to go for the metallic feeling of the Breitling that I love so much. But I don’t really wanna tell you exactly why, sorry ;D”
Itagaki is responsible for the Dead or Alive series as well as bringing back Ninja Gaiden. We don’t know too much about Devil’s Third, other than it apparently takes place in a near future in which all military and civilian satellites have been destroyed, leading to widespread chaos as the balance of power between nations shifts. Expect more information about the game’s release schedule to emerge this year.
