SEGA has announced a standalone multiplayer Company of Heroes 2 will be released this June. The Western Front Armies takes the RTS back to the Allied and German frontlines in western Europe.
It will launch for $19.99, with each individual army at a ”minimal entry point” of $12.99. The US Forces and the German Oberkommando West will be squaring off online on the Western Front.
Each army has their own distinct tactical options with new infantry, armoured vehicles, team weapons, abilities, upgrades and a total of eight seasonal multiplayer maps.
”We know how much fans love the setting of the original game and we have responded to their request to revisit the Western Front,” said Greg Wilson, Executive Producer at Relic. “By offering Western Front focused content to Company of Heroes 2, we are giving players a brand new set of tactical options that significantly expand their multiplayer experience. At the same time, it has never been easier for new players to get access to our vast multiplayer community.”
A new progression system is also introduced with unique content unlocked. Company of Heroes 2: The Western Front Armies releases on PC this June for $20, or $13 per individual army if you rather not play as the other faction.
