Cramped, chaotic deathmatch map Nuketown is something of regular feature of Treyarch’s Black Ops games, so it’s not a huge surprise to see a new version on the way in this year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
The map’s trademark mocked-up civilian village will return, this time with a futuristic feel, and it’s been tweaked in order to take advantage of Black Ops 3’s chained-movement system. Which should make it even more of a hectic mess than usual.
“The Nuketown maps have a special place in Call of Duty multiplayer history and we can’t wait to build upon that heritage in Black Ops III”, says Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia Treyarch. “We carefully adapted the design of the map to make sure that it fit with our new movement system, but to also make sure that we retained the spirit and the fun that made fans fall in love with it in the first place.”
Black Ops 3 is set for release this November 6
