The Game Awards 2015 host Geoff Keighley confirmed that Oculus founder Palmer Luckey will have a ”special announcement” for the heavily anticipated Oculus Rift VR headset at the awards, which will be held this Thursday, 3 December 2015.
Keighley announced on Twitter:
Don't miss @thegameawards for a special announcement from @oculus founder @PalmerLuckey https://t.co/Ui4UR1nhVR

The Oculus Rift won’t be the only thing premiering at The Game Awards 2015, as Far Cry Primal will be among ten games being shown off for the first time at the ceremony.
Lucky defended the $350 price tag for the virtual reality headset back in October, stating that ”No compromises were made in terms of quality.” The device is expected to have a Q1 2016 release.
Update: Rumors that the Rift would be getting a release date were quashed by Luckey, who tweeted, ”Really cool announcement happening at The Game Awards! (Not preorders opening).”
