Maximum Games has announced that their Cold War era stealth game Alekhine’s Gun will be launching on 9 February 2016 globally, delayed from its original November release date.
According to CEO Christina Seelye, the studio wanted to release the game globally because it was their first game as publisher. “With Alekhine’s Gun being our first intellectual property as publishers, we want its unveiling to match the excitement generated around this title,” she explained, “Given the support we are seeing from gamers around the globe who are eagerly awaiting Alekhine’s Gun, we feel this game deserves an all-encompassing worldwide launch.”
The game puts the player in the role of an ex-KGB assassin at the height of the Cold War in from the late 40’s through the 60’s, Agent Alekhine. He is forced into a partnership with the CIA to investigate a dark conspiracy. Gameplay features include choice-based gameplay, wide-open levels where players can sneak around undetected, and a range of weapons and disguises.
