Cult strategy title World in Conflict looked like it was on the brink of disappearing entirely back in August, when developer Massive Entertainment (now) that it was closing down the game's servers.
Thankfully it's just received something of a stay of execution; Massivethat it's looking for new ways to keep the game alive, and that the planned sever shutdown has been postponed for a while.
"We have decided to postpone the shutdown of Massgate and the servers as we are still investigating some potential community based solutions," writes Massive. "No promises, but we are looking into it. We want to make sure all options are exhausted before we shut it down. Stay tuned for coming updates!"
Released back in 2007, World in Conflict was published by the now deceased Sierra Entertainment, and was well received both commercially and critically. Apparently the fanbase is still big enough to persuade Massive to keep the game going, hopefully for quite a while longer.
