Kotaku’s Mike Fahey uncovered a hidden arcade game in Call of Duty: Black Ops III called Dead Ops II, a sequel to the arcade game that appeared in Black Ops II.
Dead Ops II is a twin-stick shooter in which players take on the role of a man whose love for his pet rooster knows no bounds. When the rooster is stolen by its former owner, a Russian cyborg gorilla, our hero goes ballistic, grabbing an automatic weapon to shoot his way back to his pet.
The game is accessed by selecting an icon in the game’s command center, so really, the mini-game isn’t hidden so much as unadvertised. The game is reportedly quite substantial, adding an hour or three of gameplay to Black Ops III.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III is due to be released tomorrow, 6 November 2015. For a game that deals with the seriousness of militaristic politics and the dehumanization of soldiers in the future, there sure are a lot of zombies, chickens and jealous cyborg gorillas in it.
