What the heck is the Dual Play system in Batman: Arkham Knight? Well, that’s looked at in this very first video in a new behind-the-scenes series called ‘Batman: Arkham Insider’, which has Rocksteady developers dishing the dirt.
We also get to hear how the studio puts together some of their more dramatic scenes, as they breakdown the ‘All Who Follow You’ trailer. There’s no loading screens between areas - it’s all seamless.
It’s a bitter sweet moment for Batman: Arkham fans as just as the British developer hits their stride they’re moving on to other projects with Arkham Knight their last entry. It’s become the gold standard for comic-to-video-game success, and birthed a particular melee fighting system that’s been adopted more and more by other games.
Dual Play lets us switch between characters during the action with the AI taking over and finishing off chained attacks we were already executing.
Batman: Arkham Knight releases on PC and console June 23rd.
