It may not have achieved its Kickstarter goal back in July 2012, but team-based tactical shooter Ground Branch is still going strong at developer Black Foot Studios. They've just released a free Technical Preview to try out.
There's also an Early Access pre-order and other goodies to help support the game's development. It's "cut from the same cloth" as the original Ghost Recon.
Co-op and online multiplayer are at the heart of this tactical team-based shooter, which absolutely forgoes any regenerative health, and even spawning depends on the game mode settings. In Ground Branch you take the role of the CIA's Special Activities Division.
"Players will learn to respect the lethality and versatility of firearms as death can come quick and health does not regenerate. You are then encouraged to join a team, in order to test your strategies and abilities against other groups or clans. Map design is non-linear, featuring randomized objectives and spawns, so that no two rounds feel identical."
The Technical Preview isn't the actual game itself but rather an "early prototype development build that will allow us to work on compatibility and performance optimizations."
Check out the official Ground Branch website to learn more. It's powered by Unreal Engine 4.
