As you can see from the video above, the frames move much smoother, but it also enhances several other visual and aural features of the game. To name a few, the patch addresses stutter caused by the software framerate limiter and distorted audio effects caused by sample rate. As a fan-made patch, there's certainly the risk that it may not work for everyone, but it certainly seems like a fairly solid project for the game.
