Treyarch has been running the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Beta on consoles for a few days now, and they've now opened it up to PC players. Without really telling anyone.
If you own a previous Call of Duty game - it isn't exactly clear which games count, but I own Advanced Warfare and I've been given access - check your Steam library, and you might find the Beta registered within. To be clear, you don't necessarily have to have pre-ordered Black Ops 3 to take part, although if you have done so that will definitely let you play.
The Beta ends on August 31, so if you're interested in taking part make sure you download it as soon as possible. I've been playing it on the PS4, and I have to say it's pretty damned sharp. The unique, MOBA-esque Specialists add an extra dose of unpredictability to the game, and there's been a concerted effort to make melee less prominent. It feels as fast and furious as ever, but slightly more forgiving to rubbish players like me.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 drops this November 6.
