Infinity Ward have decided to include a Zombies mode into Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, a first for the developer.
In a similar fashion to Sledgehammer Games (Advanced Warfare) and Treyarch (Black Ops), Infinity Ward are finally introducing the much loved Zombies mode to their game. Infinity Ward’s last game in the Call of Duty series (Ghosts) included a mode called Extinction.
Extinction saw up to four players take on the creatures known as Cryptids (aliens, basically). In this mode, you earn money by killing the aliens, that money could then be used to purchase traps. Those that have played Black Ops’ Zombies mode will see the similarities between the two modes, it appears Infinity Ward have decided to scrap the whole ‘aliens’ idea and have now moved on to Zombies instead.
Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty livestream last night gave us a glimpse of the mode in the form of a teaser image. It’s the thumbnail/main picture of the article. There’s not too much to say about it, it definitely looks like zombies.
As of right now there is very little information on the Zombies mode, but we will keep you updated once we hear any news. Right now, all we have to go on is what Activision have written in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare press release:
”Infinite Warfare will introduce an original cooperative Zombies mode that takes players on a wild ride through a new storyline with unique gameplay features and mechanics. Expect a lot of fun surprises when more details about the new zombies experience are announced later this year.”
Now we know the Zombies campaign does not take place in the same universe as Infinite Warfare’s campaign, though this does not rule out the possibility of zero gravity zombie fights.
