EVE: Valkyrie is one of two games being bundled with the Oculus Rift, which just started preorders. Developer CCP has announced that alpha testing for the VR game will start on January 18, and gamers can register to take part in it.
In order to play the alpha, ownership of the Oculus Rift dev kit 2 is required; gamers who backed the Kickstarter at the higher reward tiers will have received their own device. New players will be admitted in waves starting before the first test.
The game is a faster paced, a more traditional arcade-style space combat sim. It will take advantage of the virtual reality headset’s capability to provide a dizzying 360 degree experience. The game will also be a launch title for the PlayStation VR headset as well.
