Developer Gaming Corps has released the first ten minutes of Aftermath, the first episode of their adventure game series The Descendant. ”In the first timeline, set in the ‘future-past’, you’ll play as Mia, a ‘janitor’ tasked with keeping the chosen humans housed inside Ark-01 alive, while in the ‘future-present’ you’ll play as Donnie, one of the investigators trying to rescue any descendants trapped within the facility.”
The opening episode deals with some of the back story of how climate change led to famine and war, and how some predicted the upcoming disaster and created Fallout-like vaults called “Arks” to hide away in til World War III ended. Now, two investigators, one of whom is Donnie, have cracked open Ark-01, a vault that may or may not have 128 people who could supplement the world’s total human population of 4000.
Aftermath is due to be released on March 24th. The other 4 episodes will be released on a regular basis in 2016.
