It’s Official, Rockstar Games have finally gone ahead and confirmed that the teaser images are in fact Red Dead Redemption 2. Not only that but we’ll get to see our first glimpses of the game this Thursday, October 20th with the first ever trailer.
Set to go live on Thursday at 11am Eastern time, Rockstar will showcase the first trailer for the long-awaited sequel to the beloved open-world western. This news also follows the discovery that the name ‘Red Dead Online’ has been trademarked by the developer which has lead to speculation of a GTA Online style multiplayer mode.
This has pretty much been confirmed on the new Red Dead Redemption 2 website with the line “Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”
It’s no doubt then that we are looking at a GTA V formula for the new Red Dead game, likely complete with a single player story mode as well as an open world multiplayer mode. It will be interesting to see if the title launches with the online mode or if it is implemented painstakingly slow and buggy like the GTA Online mode was.
So far it only seems as if the game is coming to PS4 and Xbox One with no mention of a PC version in the works. If the GTA series is anything to go by, PC players may have to wait some time before a PC port gets released.
