Battleborn might not have been the success Gearbox was hoping for--not by a long shot--but they’ve made DLC plans and by gum, they’re going to stick to their guns and release those add-ons. A new character is rolling out, and his name is Ernest, ready to lay out some poultry-powered punishment on the opposition.
His primary weapon is a grenade launcher that can fire either instant explosives, or rounds that go off after a short delay. A power egg will grant buffs to nearby allies, while the explosive charge is a spiky, sticky grenade that will glom on to any opponents. A mine grid will allow a deadly field of traps to be laid for the opposing team.
Season Pass and Digital Deluxe owners already have access to Ernest, and everyone can play with this angry rooster on September 1 for 47,500 in-game credits.
Gearbox also took the opportunity to offer a quick glimpse at Battlborn’s next character, Kid Ultra. This rocket pack-wearing hero will be a highly mobile support unit, offering healing and buffs to nearby teammates.
