With Vivendi one their back an no guaranteed cash cow like Assassin's Creed coming this year (unless you count the Michael Fassbender movie) Ubisoft are unsurprisingly doing all they can to sustain a success, and Rainbow Six: Siege is their weapon of choice.
Likely seen as the surprise hit of the year, Ubisoft's latest Tom Clancy-branded effort looked to whisk away the Counter Strike playerbase looking for something with a little bit more of a modern take. The strategic team-based shooter released to rave reviews and a took on multiple forms to keep players new and old shelling up in a house or blasting their way through one.
So with the Red Crow update tying up the game's Season Pass, players expected their experience to end and the playerbase to dwidle as time went on. Not so! With Ubisoft committing to another year of Siege goodness, you'll be in need of a new season pass.
What can you expect in the Year 2 content drops? It'll follow <a href"http://www.gamewatcher.com/news/2016-14-11-rainbow-six-siege-gets-a-second-season-more-dlc-coming-next-year">the same pattern</a> as the first year.</a>.
The point here is even with the Red Crow update still up and coming, Ubisoft are making their plans known by introducing the Year 2 Pass before Year 1 has even officially ended. Though it hasn't shown up on Steam just yet, both Xbox One and PS4 have it listed and available for purchase - so you can expect Steam to follow suite soon.
And with the Steam Sale wrapping up shortly, if you're looking to get in on Rainbow Six: Siege before the start of the new year, now is probably the best time to do so.
