The Evil Within 2 is one of 2017's best games and one of the best survival horrors in recent years. It did however launch with some performance problems, so we're putting together a patch notes to detail Tango GameWorks' attempts to fix all the game's problems.
The Evil Within 2 sees main character Sebastian Castellanos return to the mental landscape of STEM in order to save his daughter Lily, who he thought was dead, but the town within STEM has become twisted and infected as monsters roam through the streets.
We called The Evil Within 2 "a wonderful survival horror, perfectly mixing Silent Hill and Resident Evil 4 while correcting all the flaws of the original". It's one of the best sequels in a month packed with them, surpassing the original game and improving on all its aspects rather than just imitating them in a lesser way.
Patch 1.03, November 6 2017
The November 6 patch is 1.9GB on Steam and fixes a lot, but it seems that performance issues are not getting sorted out yet for the unlucky gamers still experiencing them. We admittedly did not receive any performance or framerate problems during our time (see our Performance Test video below for proof) but we're sympathetic to anyone who is unable to play Evil Within 2 - especially as the game's so great.
If you have any further issues Bethesda urges you to report them in the game's Support Forum.
